About 400 years ago, during the Edo period, the Tozawa family moved from Hitachi-Matsuoka to Mogami land in Dewa.

As the lord of Shinjo, he ruled over the Mogami Mogami area and part of Murayama area for 243 years, creating the foundation of the current Shinjo town.

Shinjo Higashiyama pottery, Shinjo turtle twill weave, Shinjo Festival, whale mochi... All of these started during Shinjo domain era, and have been handed down to the present day as specialties and events of Shinjo.

1. Reopening of reservations for renovated guest rooms
Application start date: Limited number of rooms available for stays from Monday, December 15, 2025

2. Request regarding continuation of renovation work
Even after we resume accepting reservations, we will continue to carry out renovation work on other floors of the guest room building, unfortunately.
